Magnolia grandiflora
Magnolia grandiflora, also known as Southern magnolia, can grow up to 30-40 meters tall. Its leaves are simple, leathery, with straight margins or pieced. They bloom from May to August, and their flowers are fragrant. They are commonly used as solitary plants.
They can resist temperatures as low as -15 degrees Celsius. They have taproots. In gardens with shallow soil depth, their growth may be slow.
