Laurus nobilis
The native habitat of Daphne is the Mediterranean basin and Turkey. It is a densely branched evergreen shrub or tree that can reach up to 18 meters in height. It produces small, yellowish flowers and has fragrant leaves. Its trunk bark does not crack. It is tolerant to temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. It has fibrous roots. It is a good choice for hedging.
